The United States and Nevada Constititions require that full "just compensation" be paid for property taken by eminent domain in Nevada. This includes not only the value of the property taken, but also any damage or reduction in value to remaining property not taken.

Don't be afraid to reject the goverment's offer to purchase your land. Before the goverment can occupy your property it must deposit with the court what it originally offers you. Nevada law says that "just compensation" is the "highest price" that the property will bring on the open market based upon its "highest and best use."
